Settling\u00a0in Chelsea and later the South End, Antin would become one of the most renowned immigrant writers of her generation. Years before\u00a0penning her famous autobiography, The Promised Land (1912), she wrote a series\u00a0of letters to her uncle describing her\u00a0harrowing journey from Russia to Boston.
